Past residents of a Broad Street building illustrate the social history of Lyme Regis

When the Research Team delved into the history of Temple House at 63 Broad Street (the front part of which is currently occupied Lyme Bay Dental Clinic), they found at least four previous dentists had lived and worked there.

With most of the current building dating back to the mid-1700s (the cellars and footprint are earlier), the information discovered about its occupants nicely illustrates the social history of Lyme, mirroring the town's improving fortunes after its decline in first half of the 17th century. Read more about the people and the building.

Also recently added to the website is a short paper on 10 Coombe Street, for many years a shop and/or a guest house, it is now a private residence.
