When the Research Team delved into the history of Temple House at 63 Broad Street (the front part of which is currently occupied Lyme Bay Dental Clinic), they found at least four previous dentists had lived and worked there.

With most of the current building dating back to the mid-1700s (the cellars and footprint are earlier), the information discovered about its occupants nicely illustrates the social history of Lyme, mirroring the town's improving fortunes after its decline in first half of the 17th century. Read more about the people and the building.

Also recently added to the website is a short paper on 10 Coombe Street, for many years a shop and/or a guest house, it is now a private residence.

The Research Team was very pleased indeed to receive this album from John Collinson of photographs taken either by his father or his uncle Norman: not only do personal photographs often show areas of Lyme neglected by professional photographers, but as in this case, they have an exact date: July 1926. Although not in pristine condition, given they are now nearly 100 years old, they are remarkably clear - and very informative.
