There is now a page dedicated to the Parish Church sparked by the Research Team's project to examine materials related to it held in the Museum's Archives, and a news cutting from 1889 describes in some detail the look of the newly refurbished Guildhall in Bridge Street and the celebrations that took place to mark its repopening.

Probably one of a number of diaries, this one [the Boteler Diary at bottom left of the linked page] in the possession of Lyme Regis Museum was started by Henry Boteler RN after his arrival in Lyme to take up a position as Coastguard. Both his and later his young wife's entries giveĀ a personal account detailing the daily life, family, social activities, health, food, the weather as well as touching on political issues such as the French "people quarrelling with their king."
Anyone who knew Lyme before 2016 would most probably say "Woodberry Down" but how many would know just how many different uses the buildings have been put to over their 114 year history? This short but comprehensive history tells the full story.
